"Monday Note" (early, for Feb 13)
I Thought I would put this out a bit early this week, because I thought you might want to tend to some of this before the snow hits!
Next week, due to the 'abbreviated nature' of the week, we are going to take the opportunity to focus on a few things we have had a hard time fitting in, otherwise. Namely some extra bible lessons, and a LOT of Art. I have a really awesome set of video art lessons that I used to use with homeschool groups that would come to my house for art lessons. I want to use these lessons with the students here, too. There are some specific supplies that are needed. I've listed them here(click on the word here, and it will take you to the link). If you are unable to purchase these before next Wednesday do not fret TOO much, as I have about 6 sets at home, that I will bring in, to share with those who don't have them, and also, students can share with one-another too. I'm simply asking that, if at all possible, these be purchased for your student by Wednesday. Thanks! I think the kids will really enjoy these lessons and you will be amazed at the artwork they will be bringing home! The teacher is excellent and she brings in awesome biblical lessons into what she teaches, too!
PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES
We need to schedule Parent-teacher conferences - I have asked you all to contact me, and no one has - which means you are confident that things are going well, which makes me very happy! But I do need to talk to a few of you, and I just think it's a good idea to talk periodically, about your student's educational goals. So I would like to schedule you all into the afternoons of the 21st and the 22nd. We will start at 4:30, on Thursday the 21st, and at 2:00 on the 22nd. The schedule is here(click on the word here, and it will take you to the link), if your assigned time does not work for you please text me, and I will try to re-schedule.
Remember, no school on the 11th and 12th - I'll be at meetings in Boise both days (pray that the weather isn't TOO dicey, for me to get there!). Also, no school the following week, on Monday, due to President's day. **I was wrong, before, when I said we follow the Mt. Home school district. We will make our own decisions, based on road conditions right here, in town, since most of us all live pretty close in. So you will be notified if we close, and it is apparently pretty rare, that we do. I will also post here, on the school website, and send out 'Remind' notifications. So, make sure you are getting the remind notifications. If you are not, then let me know, (via text) and I will add you back in.
Students brought home lists of all of the students' names, today, so that they can start prepping their Valentines for each other. This is NOT a required activity - take part if you like - but please do keep it simple - no need to get all elaborate!! The list is also here(click on the word here, and it will take you to the link) if you did not see the little slip of paper come home.
I have been working with the kids on 'building one another up' - we have the 'THINK' reminder on our bulletin board (Is it Thoughtful, Helpful, Inspirational, Necessary, Kind? - need to add 'True' in there, too!) I have been working with them on 'thinking the best' of their classmates and upholding their Christian values in their interactions with one-another. I would ask that you, as parents, help them remember these things at home. Particularly when it applies to their interactions with one-another in other settings such as on the various social media platforms, and even when they are thinking about what things to bring for show-and-tell. Please help them to focus on those Christian values as they think of what they will bring, to share with their fellow students.
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Philippians 4:8
