Tuesday November 6

First of all, let me apologize for the late dismissal today - I was trying to get something printed to send home to all of you, and the printer was not cooperating!  I will get them printed tonight, and send them home tomorrow.  They were: Shirt orders (explained below) and Orange Sales Fundraiser forms (also explained below)

Also, I guess I should apologize for not getting the Monday note out till Tuesday this week.  On the first Monday of every month, we have our school board meeting, and being the secretary of that group, I always have prep work to do for that, that usually needs to be done, between when school lets out, and when the meeting starts - and this week I had a dental appointment in there too!!!  So, it's a Tuesday note this week.  Hope that's not a problem.

Several things need attention at present:

#1 - Tuition is due on the first of the month, each month, and late fees are applicable after the 10th of each month.

Please don't wait for the treasurer to contact you.  Please simply hand a check to Sharon in the morning or afternoon, or mail a check to DVCS School Treasurer, PO Box 124, Mountain Home, ID 83647.  If you need to make arrangements for late payment please call Amy directly at 208-591-0874.

For your reference here is the quote from the handbook regarding tuition payment:

"Past Due Accounts
School bills are due on the1st of the month. A late fee of $10.00 PER DAY will be assessed beginning on day 11 unless satisfactory arrangements are approved by the School Treasurer or School Board Chairperson.

If payment is past due 20 days from the due date, the student will be no longer eligible to attend school. This action will be preceded by a letter, phone call or visit by the School Board Chairperson or Treasurer. Exceptions will be made only if satisfactory financial arrangements can be made.

Students with unpaid accounts from a previous year are expected to pay their accounts in full before registering for the current year. Accounts outstanding in other schools must be settled or arranged for satisfactorily before the student can be accepted unconditionally at Desert View Christian School.

Records will not be released from DVCS until accounts are paid in full."

#2 - Orange Sales Fund Raiser:

Your student will be bringing home a form and envelope for our Orange Sales fund raiser - please collect all funds at time of collecting the order.  If you have any questions please direct them to Bonnie Sprowl 303-350-0433.

#3 You will also receive a Green paper for shirt orders.

We have had several false starts on this, and again I apologize - this paper order form is an attempt to get all of the orders collected (with funds, when needed) in one, consistent way.  What happened last time is that I received one order from one person via text, one via e-mail, one via the 'Remind' program...  you con see that this would get confusing fast.  SO, we are resorting to good old-fashioned paper (which has also faild us, at least for TODAY, as the printer WOULD not co-operate!!  So even THAT was not 'easy'.

*sigh*

: )

So, even if you sent me something already, please fill in the paper and get things sent back in ASAP.

#4 Some upcoming Calendar items:

No School - Veterans Day - Monday, November 12

Thanksgiving dinner - Thursday, November 15 (6:00)

No School - Thanksgiving break - Wednesday-Friday November 21-23  (there is some debate as to whether we will have a half day on November 20th - I will keep you posted, ASAP)

Wrap It Up - Gift wrapping fund raiser - Dec 9, Dec 16 (time to follow - but 'afternoon/evening' is the general idea)

#5 - 'Forgotten' Lunches

Please send in some sort of shelf-stable or frozen lunch that can be kept at the school, to cover your student on days that their lunch is forgotten.

This applies to everyone.  When your student's lunch is used, you will be asked to replace it with another non-perishable-type lunch for the next time that lunch is forgotten.
